The Road to WrestleMania 41 has several enjoyable stories unraveling that fans are invested in, including Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena, Roman Reign vs. Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk, Gunther vs. Jey Uso, Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens, and more, all of which have been experiencing unique builds and big moments. When looking at the WWE Women’s World Titles across Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown, things have been way less exciting and far more disjointed. Triple H’s booking of the women’s division has been criticized several times over the last few years, and the build to WrestleMania 41 has thus far been another example of how the division is being failed.
Tiffany Stratton Vs. Charlotte Flair Is Dead In The Water
Few Fans Are Excited About This WrestleMania 41 Match
- Charlotte Flair’s Royal Rumble win was lambasted.
- Flair’s character was turned heel due to bad fan reaction.
- The feud between Flair and Stratton has been way too simple and bland.
One of the worst built matches for WrestleMania 41 thus far has been Tiffany Stratton vs. Charlotte Flair. WWE severely misjudged the reaction to a babyface Charlotte Flair winning the Royal Rumble the moment she returned from over a year on the shelf, with fans booing her comeback promo and prompting a heel turn on the fly. Stratton cemented a full babyface turn, but this turn has sucked dry much of the personality that got her so over as a heel in the first place. Compared to other builds, this feels so flat and lifeless.

John Cena’s WrestleMania 41 Match Will Have a Few Similarities To His First WWE Championship Win
For everything different about John Cena between 2005 and 2025, striking similarities have sprung up along the Road to WrestleMania.
For weeks, Flair has ripped apart Stratton on the mic and continued to beat her down time and time again on SmackDown, but that has been the basis of their feud thus far. There isn’t really any semblance of story aside from Flair thinking she is better, and the heat for their match is lessening by the week. Compare this to the men’s title on SmackDown, which featured an all-timer segment at Elimination Chamber featuring massive stars like Cody Rhodes, The Rock, and John Cena, and it screams of two completely different worlds, with the men clearly being WWE’s priority.
Iyo Sky Vs. Rhea Ripley Vs. Bianca Belair Has Been Messy
The Women’s World Championship Feud Has Been Thrown Together Ahead Of WrestleMania 41
- There was no long-term build for this Women’s World Title match.
- Bianca Belair won Elimination Chamber and helped cost Rhea Ripley her title to Iyo Sky.
- Rhea Ripley’s character has become a whiner.
A triple threat match between Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky and Bianca Belair is a recipe for a show-stealer at WrestleMania, but the build to the match has been quite messy thus far, and compared to other matches on the card, it feels like a slap in the face to those involved. Fans have been waiting for years to see Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair go at it, but to build up a match for the pair at WrestleMania with just a month before the show left the pair feeling very short-changed. Belair won the Elimination Chamber, but then helped to cause Ripley to lose the gold on RAW against Iyo Sky. The title change was a great moment, but the aftermath has been weird.

What Was The Point Of Shinsuke Nakamura’s United States Championship Reign?
Shinsuke Nakamura returned to WWE to beat LA Knight for the United States Championship only to lose it right back to him.
In an interview after RAW, Ripley looked to potentially unlock a new direction in her character, taking all the blame for her loss and unlocking a side with more depth. However, when she emerged on RAW the following week, she looked like a whiner as she blamed Belair for cheerleading, in what was an out-of-character move from someone who was always so badass. Everything has been rushed and thrown together, especially seen as there wasn’t a whole load of build or defined history in the months leading up to the show, unlike many of the other matches across the WrestleMania card.
WWE Can Fix Things Before WrestleMania 41
There Is Still Time To Create Strong Stories For The Women’s Title Scenes
- Tiffany Stratton needs to find some fire.
- Personal animosity can be built in the triple threat.
- A WrestleMania main event for a women’s match should be the goal for WWE.
There is still a month until WrestleMania 41, and there is time for WWE to rectify mistakes and create a good build for both women’s matches. Triple H noted at a press conference that he would consider all matches for a WrestleMania main event, but it would be the matches most deserving of it. With bad booking, there is no chance for a women’s feud and match to earn that sort of spot. Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, and Iyo Sky are world-class performers and they can craft bad blood and unpredictability, and with the right build Stratton can become a valiant underdog babyface looking to prove herself at WrestleMania, but things are not looking all too promising.

The Alpha Academy Is Exactly What The Gunther Vs. Jey Uso Feud Needed
Many fans weren’t excited for Gunther vs. Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41, but adding the Alpha Academy has fueled their feud.
One thing is for sure, the women’s division has felt lacking once again, and WWE is currently failing all the talented names on offer. In a good development, the non-title feud between Jade Cargill and Naomi is looking very promising, and is presently the most interesting women’s division story heading into WrestleMania 41, but this sort of heat needs to be built for the world titles too.
