The legendary singer-songwriter Marianne Faithfull, who sang alongside and frolicked with many well-known rockers within the Sixties British Invasion and past, has died.
Faithfull sang “As Tears Go By,” a success single written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards the Rolling Stones later recorded themselves — and was Jagger’s girlfriend, which broke up her marriage on the time.
She sang backup on Beatles tracks, and labored with music trade luminaries together with Elton John and Bernie Taupin, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, PJ Harvey, Dolly Parton, Beck, and extra. She was even featured on a Metallica music in 1997.
She additionally appeared onstage and display screen over time and was a fixture in varied modern circles spanning many years.
She married and divorced 3 times … and is survived by her accomplice, François Ravard.
